And it’s also INCONSISTENT ASF. ๐Ÿ˜ซ๐Ÿ™ƒ So How Do You Budget? What Should You Be Doing With Your Money Honey? Let’s Talk About It! Okay, so on the real. As dancers, our money is literally different from that of any other industry. ๐Ÿคท‍โ™€๏ธ You might have $1000 nights, $2000 nights, or $5000 nights. But also $50 nights, $100 nights, $0 NIGHTS. It's so inconsistent, and you’re typically not on a schedule. ๐Ÿ“‰ You can work 5 days a week, 5 days a month, once a week, it’s always so random. And on top of that, a lot of us baddies here love to live Bougie AF. ๐Ÿ’…๐Ÿ‘›

You wanna have a nice car, a nice house, go shopping and have your Gucci bags, and go to eat at nice restaurants, and go to the bars, and go shopping, and money could be flying in and out at crazy proportions! It can be a lot! ๐Ÿคฏ

I have grown a lot on my financial journey, I feel like overall I’ve been pretty good with my money. But, at the same time, not. If that makes sense. ๐ŸงI just want to give some tips. I have been dancing for 6+ years, and here are some things that I want to share with you about budgeting and making your money work for you! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿค

You Need to Have the Mentality That You’re Not Going to Be a Stripper FOREVER

First things first, if you have the mentality of, “Yeah, I’m just going to dance until whenever,” then you don’t have the urgency to save, invest, to do things with your money now. ๐ŸŽฏ Because the ending is far away, it’s not even in your thoughts. But give yourself the mentality of, “Okay, I will only be a dancer for 5 years,” that has a different energy to the amount of money you want to save, invest, and things you want to do with it. That’s my number 1 thing. ๐Ÿ’ฏ

No, you’re not going to be a dancer forever. You will get burned out, you will get over it, you will get tired of the industry at some point. ๐Ÿ˜ค๐Ÿ˜– For some women, that was under 1-2 years. For others that’s 15 years. It just depends on you. And when it comes to your money, my biggest tip is to save as much as you can. ๐Ÿ’ฒ๐Ÿ’ฒ ๐Ÿ’ฒ

If that means to save 50%, Perfect! Find a number, and stick to it. ๐Ÿ”ข What I want to say, especially if you’ve been a dancer for several months to a few years, you should relatively know how much you’re making and how much you're working. ๐Ÿ“†๐Ÿ’ต You have to know what’s going on with your money.  If you’re not keeping track of how much money you’re making, what are you doing??? ๐Ÿคจ That needs to be the first thing, you need to keep an EXQUISITE check on how much money you’re making. โœ… And it doesn’t have to be hard! ๐Ÿ‘Ž

I literally go on my calendar app to add the days that I worked and write down how much money I make each day. ๐Ÿ“†๐Ÿ’ฐ It’s simple and doesn’t have to be hard! But, if you don’t keep track of it, it will be very VERY hard to know What is going on. ๐Ÿค”โ˜น๏ธ “How much money did I make this month? How many days did I work?” It becomes a blur. So, REALLY keep track of how much money you’re making every night. That is my number 1 tip!! ๐Ÿ™Œ

What Are Your Bills Every Month?

You need to know what is your current financial situation. What kind of bills do you need to pay every month and what are your financial goals??? ๐Ÿง๐Ÿ““ What is the next step for you?

So, first, you need to know how much your bills are each month. What do you pay in rent and utilities every month? ๐Ÿ“Š For your phone, car note, car insurance, gas, groceries, going out to eat, shopping, bars, parties, raves, concerts, and do you have any debt (student loans and credit cards)? ๐Ÿ“‹ You need to understand what is that number for you and be clear. Even if it’s an estimate, some months you go out more than others. You want to have an estimate. So let’s say once to tally that up, and you come to the conclusion that all of your bills come up to $4000, that’s a good starting point. โœ”๏ธ

Because from there you can decide, “What are my goals? How can I make my money work for me? What can I do with this?” Maybe that’s investing in property, and it doesn’t have to be buying a house, because there are so many people who rent out a house and rent it on Airbnb.๐Ÿ โœ”๏ธ You can do this, too! You have the money to do this and be a boss bitch! If you want to be a boss bitch, you have to make the money work for you! ๐Ÿ’ฐ๐Ÿค‘

Invest in property, rent it out as an Airbnb, buy a car, and rent it out on Turo! You can lease a car and rent it out. ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿ’ฐ That means putting down $5000, paying $200-$300 a month, rent it out for $50-$70 a day. You have the option to do this! Maybe you want to invest in stock or crypto. ๐Ÿ“ˆ๐Ÿ” Maybe you want to start a business! ๐Ÿ‘ธ You always wanted to be a coach or start a podcast, open up an ice cream shop, start an e-commerce, start a fashion brand, or whatever! INVEST IN YOURSELF. ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿซถ If you ever want to have a business, use the money that you’re making to invest in your dreams!

Invest in training and programs that you want to do! Maybe you want to be a masseuse, or an MUA, or maybe a dentist, or go to school! ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿซ Use your money to help you in your future, because you’ve got access to a lot of it. ๐Ÿ’ฐโœ”๏ธ But if you’re not intentional about it, you’re gonna look back and be like, “Damn! I have done this for 5 years, I’ve probably made $300K, and I have NOTHING to show for it.” ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿคท‍โ™€๏ธ You want to make sure you have something to show for it! For me, I have invested so much into my business, that I’ve been able to go have coaches and training programs. I have been able to rent a car on Turo, I was able to buy a food truck with my husband, and that business is doing super well! ๐Ÿค—๐ŸŽ‰ So once again, at the end of the day, you want the mindset of, “Yeah, I’m making good money, but I want to create opportunities to REPLACE my stripper income.” ๐Ÿ’ต๐Ÿ’ฏ

So, you want a way to make $5000-$10000 without having to strip! Because, I have seen too many girls get trapped and being like, “Ugh I don’t wanna do it, I’m getting burnt out! I’m getting tired of it. But I don’t want to work at McDonald’s, I don’t have any skills, I and have any other options, and I’m stuck.” ๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿคฌ I Don’t Want You to Be Stuck! So, let’s start thinking ahead of time! โฐ

One pro tip that I have that works well for me, but it doesn’t work for everyone: I don’t use cash. ๐Ÿ™…‍โ™€๏ธ The money that I make that comes home with me tonight goes Straight to My Bank Account. โ˜๏ธ I don’t spend a dollar of it until I put it in my bank account. And the reason for that is because I want to know how much money I am spending on everything. ๐Ÿ“‹

There are a ton of budgeting apps where you can literally log into your online banking system. You can see how much money came in, how much you spent at Target, McDonald’s, and on rent! ๐Ÿ“‹โœ”๏ธ That helps me to be super intentional to the PENNY of where my money is going! When I wasn’t doing this I was like, “WAIT, didn’t I just make like $1000? Why is there $300? What did I spend it on? Did I lose money? Did it get stolen? Did I go out to eat? Did I tip an accidental $100? Like, where is my money going? Where are the receipts?” And I didn’t have any receipts! ๐Ÿงพ Doing things all by your card has tremendously helped me to keep EXQUISITE track of What’s going on in my bank account. I can look on the app any time of day, and see exactly what I spent on what. ๐Ÿ“

The reason why this is so helpful is because when we have our calculations, I realize we spend $600 going out one month. Like, I’m married to a chef, why are we going out to eat so much?! Can I remember the amazing food I had, no because it was mediocre. ๐Ÿคฆ‍โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿคท‍โ™€๏ธSo we made the decision to make a budget for going out to eat to be $250 a month. THAT’S IT. We are being SUPER intentional. We’re not being lazy like, “Ugh we’ll just order pizza, we’ll just order the food.” No, I’m going to be intentional. Because I want some of that money that I have been spending on going out to eat to go to my savings. That’s What I Want. ๐Ÿ’ฏ

Have BIG GOALS

I love this for me, and maybe this will help you, too! One of my goals is to have $5,000 to put in my savings account, and there are many ways you can do that! ๐Ÿ“‹โœ…

For one, limiting my budget. What can I take out? Do I Really need to get a new pair of stripper heels? Do I Really to get a new weave right now? Do I Really need to get new makeup and go shopping? Or go to the bar and get $80 worth of cocktails when I can just have cocktails at home? Not Really! And I can choose to really be intentional and to also Work More. ๐Ÿ’ต

This is another strategy, you’re like, “Look, I don’t want to take anything out of my budget. I’m A Baddie, I want to live my best life and do EVERYTHING that I want to do. I don’t want to cut anything out.” ๐Ÿ’…๐Ÿ’– GIRL, I Feel You! I’m also that girl. So that means: what is the goal for the month?

“My goal is to make $15K a month, so I better work to make that happen!” What I do is in the first two weeks of the month I’ll work 3 days a week, and see how I’m doing. โœ…Maybe I had a really great week, and I’m already at $10K, cool. I can work a little more. Maybe it’s been a really bad month and I’m only at $3000, okay. I need to step it up and work 4 days a week, or come in early and stay a little bit later. Or to really push and give it my all to make this happen. So, how do you want to do it? There are so many different ways, but the #1 thing is to be intentional. ๐ŸŽฏ To know how much your life costs, what your goals are (to save money, invest in property, to invest in yourself), and to also think about your exit plan. What are you doing next, what is the next step for you? How can you continue to level up and be a baddie, even when you’re not a dancer anymore? ๐Ÿง๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿฝ

It’s Hard Out Here!

The last thing I want to share is it’s hard out here sometimes! ๐Ÿ˜ต๐Ÿ˜ต‍๐Ÿ’ซ Girls Are STRUGGLING. The clubs are not as busy as they might be in different seasons or for certain times of the year. So, make sure you’re really saving! Because I have had REALLY SLOW months. One month I literally only made $2000. And I’m Grateful, because we made $12k in our business, and I’m not struggling. But if I was ONLY a dancer, then I’d be struggling right now. ๐Ÿคฎ Think about that, save money for a rainy day, and work extra if you have the energy. If you're feeling like, “Uh should I stay home, should I go to work?” Girl, go to work!! ๐Ÿ“ข JUST DO IT, work for 3-4 hours. Make a couple of extra bucks, save it, and put it in an account. ๐Ÿ’ฐ

Because there might be a day when you get sick ๐Ÿ˜ท, or you twist your ankle and you can’t dance for 2 weeks, or you’re pregnant, or something can happen and you’re thinking, “Fuck! I should have prepared for this!” ๐Ÿ˜ข

So be smart, let me know if these tips were helpful for you! If you have any more questions let me know and I am happy to EXPAND on them! But, you got this, you’re a baddie. Don’t be stupid with your money! Don’t spend it on brand-name purses, bags, and all of these material things. ๐Ÿ›๏ธ Yes, it’s cool to have a Chanel bag, but it’s even cooler to have $100K in your bank account to put a down payment on a house in CASH BABY!!  ๐Ÿก๐Ÿ’ฒ

I LOVE YOU SO MUCH, you’re a BADDIE!!! ๐Ÿ’‹๐Ÿซถ
