So (being super obvious here) I’m a stripper, and it’s no secret that I LOVE being a stripper! 💁‍♀️ And since I have girlies coming up to me saying, “You know what, I think I want to be a stripper!!” Well, I got some good stuff to share with you! There are some pros and cons that come with it. And I will share them so you can see for yourself if this is something you want to do, baddie! 

Now, if you’re thinking about becoming a stripper, just know that I think it’s a fun, empowering job that gives you freedom, flexibility, and control for your life! 🥂😏 So let’s get into it!

From My Own Experience

I can only speak about being a stripper in the United States, so here we go! In California, I had so much freedom. 🙌

Here are more things to know from my experience:

• You can make your own schedule. Work as much (or as little) as you want, and have control of the amount of income you want to make! There was a time when I saved up for a big vacation. I worked 6 days a week for like 1-2 months. At the same time, I was gone for 9 months on vacation, came back and I STILL have my job.  🌍❤️ That Is AMAZING. To travel and have fun and do what I wanted to do on my terms! This (in my opinion) is the big pro of the job. 🤑💅
• You NEED to have Motivation. No one is telling you to go to work, nobody is telling you that you have to be at the club at 8 pm. Which can lead you to become lazy! 😴 This has definitely happened to me! I decide to show up to work at 8 pm, but then get comfy in my PJs. So when 8 pm goes by I’m like, “Naaah, I don’t want to go in anymore…” So you seriously have to have the motivation and determination to do the job!
• If you want to go in at 8 pm, girl, GET YOU ASS UP AND GO IN AT 8 PM! Don’t get comfortable in your PJs and then you don’t feel like going to work. 💪
• You HAVE to HAVE a STRONG MINDSET. I do feel like being a dancer can be glamorized sometimes. People think is sooo easy to make money as a stripper. Which it can be, but it takes having a STRONG MINDSET. You have to have a strong mindset because you will have to be the one approaching these men in the clubs. 
• Be proactive, charm the customers, and initiate with them. YOU will be the one to have to initiate with the customers, go up to them, and offer a dance. Because they’re not going to come up to you all the time. You have to put on that face and persona All the Time. This could be draining after a while, but that is part of the job. And I know that you may not ALWAYS be up to being extroverted and bubbly all of the time. Things happen in your personal life. You and your man got into it, you just aren’t feeling up to it, and you’re having a bad day. I get it! But you have to push through that and perform at your best for the customers. It’s Part of the Job! 💯
• And girl, you will be rejected. Like 92% of the time you’ll have someone tell you, “No.” This can happen to you EVERY DAY.  Expect a rejection, but be strong. Because some people will be nice about it and others will be assholes about it. But, no matter what, you have to be strong about it. Keep trying, you may not be their type or whatever. But you gotta keep pushing. Hell, one time I had been rejected for three hours straight in one night! It almost crushed me, but I kept a smile on my face because I didn’t take it personally. So PLEASE, don’t let this mess up your sales game! 💰

Remember Baddie, It’s a Sales Game

Speaking of, you’ll need to convince your customers to spend MORE than what they propose to you if it’s not enough. Like if the customer says, “Well I only want to spend $50,” but that’s not going to work for you. Because you want $500!! Well, good news baddie! But moving on, here’s more to know if working as a stripper is for you. I know the common question, “What’s the day in the life like?” “Should I be naked?” “What do I have to do?” “What should I expect?” NO PROBLEM! I will break it down further so you can see if being a stripper is right for you!

There are two different types of strip clubs: topless clubs and full nude clubs. Either way, you’re a Whole Striptease! In California, the topless ones have alcohol, and the full nude ones don’t have alcohol. These will give you a sense of the vibes. You’re usually in a bikini, lingerie, a one-piece, and six-inch platform heels. 👙👠 But don’t worry! You will get used to those heels in time because guess what!! YOU ARE A BAD BITCH! 😘

Okay, when you’re on stage, you are expected to either take your top off or be fully nude. This depends on the kind of club you work at. And here is something else you should know: You DO NOT Need to Know Any POLE TRICKS to Be a Stripper! For me, I’m usually on the floor being close to the customers, rarely would you find me on the pole. Plus, being on the floor and being closer to the customers usually gets me the most money. Keep this in mind though, being erotic is how you score them BIG BUCKS! 💵

LAP DANCES

Now this is where 80-90% of your money will be coming from. When you are in the room, you gotta work that stage! Stage is where you present yourself and scope out your customers. It’s the best place to go up and read the room! You gotta be on the lookout for a good target (customer, haha) and work the whole thing to get you more money! 

There are two types of Lap Dances: Couch Dances and VIPs.

Couch Dances are usually by the song, like $20-40 a song in a more public place. 🛋️

BUUUUUT, VIPs are where most of your money is coming from! 

These are usually 10-15 songs, half an hour to an hour long depending on where you work. There are usually more options where you can choose what you want to do. These are usually in the private rooms in the back of the club. 

If you’re at a topless club you’ll just be topless. If you’re at a nude club you’ll be fully nude. Some rooms have a couch or a bed 🛏, it just depends on the club. And this is where you will give your private lap dances.

And girl, you have to be STRONG IN YOUR BOUNDARIES. Gonna get a little graphic here. Guys will try to do the f*cking most. They will try to finger you, put a finger in your ass, try to have sex with you, get a blowjob, lick your tits, all of that. 🙅‍♀️ Personally, I HATE when guys try to lick my tits. Like seriously, it grosses me out! 🤢 But, some girls are fine with that if they are going to get paid. For example: “You want to lick my titties? That’s an extra $50.” Learn to set firm boundaries, and you can still have fun with this!

Now for the Good Part, Your Payments!

Most of the time the clubs will take a percentage of your dances. Like when I was in California, the clubs take about 50% of your earnings (ick), in Las Vegas, it was around 25-30% of your earnings. Now let’s picture this, if you were in Vegas, that X amount you made will have a 25% cut given to the club. 📉 BUT, you keep all of your tips!! 

If a customer likes you and tips you like $100, you get to keep that! 

Also know that you may have to tip out the waitresses, DJ, security, and bar tenders depending on where you are working. So always keep that in mind!! 📓

For me, being a stripper was So Life-changing. I’ve gotten more confident, started my own businesses, traveled, have boundaries, and developed my self-worth! I feel like I’m overall a better person because I AM A DANCER! And I do believe it’s a beautiful experience. 🥰

I do suggest you give it a try! Don’t knock it too soon, you can even go to a club as a customer to feel out the vibes! After that, if it’s not for you then it's not for you! 🤷‍♀️
